When Competition and Service meet, everybody wins.
Welcome to the MLK Coalition 2009-2010 Service Challenge! In the aftermath of the largest economic downturn in the recent history of the United States, throughout our communities, Americans are doing their fair share to help rebuild and replenish our Nation. Unfortunately, with nearly a ten percent unemployment rate our not-for-profit organizations are overwhelmed and many Americans are underserved. The not-for-profit arms of our society, designed for “service to the public”, find themselves operating with smaller budgets, fewer employees and increased demands for service. While there are many service projects underway, we ask you to join us in our “Not Just One Day of Service” project. Once your organization or school registers, any not-for- profit volunteers' service hours can be counted. Wherever your service hours are performed, they are eligible for participation in this service challenge. Let us make the Greater Cincinnati Area the number one volunteer service provider in the country…world! Next year, 2010-2011, we challenge every city to participate in a countrywide challenge.
Thank you,
 Sha-Ron R. Wilson Publicity Chair
