Not Just One Day of Service
The Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition of Greater Cincinnati, On November 11, 2009, will answer the “Call to Service” from President Barack Obama. We challenge everyone to participate in our first annual “Not Just One Day of Service” competition, by volunteering your time and energy to any participating not- for-profit organization through your employer or school system.
Our mission is to engage your organizations and their families, by increasing awareness of this “Call to Service”. Martin Luther King Jr. committed his life to the betterment of humanity. He understood “service” as the nexus between people and their communities. We understand that through service to others you strengthen communities, empower individuals, and bridge barriers.
Our goal is to establish The Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition of Greater Cincinnati and The Freedom Center Birthday Celebration; and “Not Just One Day of Service” as the precedent for all other endeavors across the world.
The winners will be recognized at Music Hall during The Martin Luther King Day Celebration. We invite you to actively participate in this Service Challenge and help us honor and celebrate Martin Luther King’s Dream.
